Enrico Serafini (1913-1968) set up his own shop in Florence in Piazza San Felicità 4, in 1947. Early in his career he created jewelry for other companies in Florence. Later, in 1957, as his success grew his merit was rewarded with the "Diamonds International Award". Tiffany and Black Starr & Goram commissioned him several pieces with an accent on design and technical mastery.
Unfortunately his work is not well documented, since he disappeared early in his life. Currently his personal archives are not available, dampening any hope for further study.
Today we might consider Serafini as one of the first Italian jewelry designers of international relevance and an avant-gardist of the so called Italian Style. His jewels are characterized by a very expressive style of naturalistic inspiration, excellent finishing, and displaying complete mastery of techniques.
