• Commentary:

  This piece might be considered as a modern interpretation of a classical theme made popular by Venitians jewelers and called “Blackamoor jewelry”. Previous italians examples represented black page with Venitians costumes with the head carved from hardstones. This theme was inspired by Greek and Roman jewelery where the blackamoor was already portrayed. Here this theme has been declined into typical African costumes with painted enamel giving a naïve-like-painting effect.
