  The firm was founded in 1875 by four brothers in Madrid: Fernand, Jacques, Jules and Leopold Lacloche. They moved to Paris at the turn of the century and established a series of jewellery shops, finally founding the Maison Lacloche Frères at 15, rue de la Paix in 1901. The firm continued to expand, and in 1912 opened a shop on New Bond Street in London before taking over Fabergé's London shop and inventory in 1920.

  Its reputation grew rapidly after the 1925 "Exposition Internationale" in Paris where they presented a fantastic collection of pendants that depicted the fables of La Fontaine. The Lacloche brothers drew their inspiration from Oriental and Chinese art as well.

  Lacloche Frères was famous in the 1920s and 1930s for their art of "nécessaires", which consisted in creating elaborate lacquered and enamelled cigarette and vanity cases, set with diamond and precious stone motifs. Their pieces are especially valued because of their limited production.
